Willis "BIG RED" Draughn Jr. has dedicated over two decades to serving the West Charlotte community as the owner and operator of Master Kutz. Known for his deep commitment to connection, empowerment, and service, Big Red has transformed Master Kutz into more than just a barbershop—it's a cornerstone of the community.
Big Red's vision extends beyond exceptional grooming services. Through Master Kutz, he has fostered a space that embodies mentorship, support, and second chances. His passion for community engagement led him to partner with Be You Be Great (BYBG), amplifying the impact of his work.
More than just a Barber Shop...
As a program of Be You Be Great, Master Kutz proudly employs 90% previously convicted felons, providing them with a second chance and a path to success. Through our unique model, barbers join as members and pay a weekly fee, which grants them access to their booth as well as a host of valuable resources. These include quarterly enrichment seminars focused on financial literacy, credit repair, and first-time homebuyer programs, ensuring that our barbers not only excel in their craft but also build a stable and prosperous future. At Master Kutz, we believe in the power of community and the importance of providing opportunities for those who need them most, fostering an environment of growth, learning, and success.
